HIGH BOND-40

Introduction

HIGH BOND-40 is acrylic based Bonding Agent and polymer component for repair mortar and cement screed for waterproofing and for polymer cement concrete. It is recommended primer for cementatious repair system.

The following characteristics are improved in the mortar by using HIGH BOND-40.

  • The adhesion of mortars and finishing coats on the existing concrete.
  • The freedom from the cracks above the steel reinforcement.
  • The Compressive and flexural strength is increased compared to the reference mix.
  • The protective effect of anticorrosion coatings.
  • Water absorption is reduced, thus providing increased waterproofing properties.
  • The freedom from cracks between the mortar and the existing concrete.
  • Coefficient of expansion corresponds to that of the unmodified mortar/concrete. The modulus of elasticity is reduced.
  • Reduced shrinkage and swelling.

Uses Of High Bond-40

  • For preparation of bonding slurry between hardened concrete and fresh laying of concrete.
  • For preparations of bonding mortar for fixing of stone & tiles etc.
  • For preparation of repair mortar and waterproofing mortars.
  • The production of structural leveling compounds and bonded screed.

Advantages

  • Provides excellent bond to concrete, masonry, stonework, plaster etc.
  • Improves tensile and comprehensive properties.
  • Allows thin section applications.
  • Reduces water absorption of modified mix.
  • Reduces shrinkage cracks.
  • Increase workability.
  • The production of repair mortars, e.g. in the repair and filling of structural concrete in bridge building and Civil Engineering.
  • Resistant to chloride & sulphate.
  • To control the salt-efflorescence.

Instructions For Use

Surface Preparation:
The surface must be clean, sound and free from loose particles, dust, oil & grease. Excess laitance should be removed by mechanical means. Smooth subtracts must be mechanically roughened. Any steel in the repair area should be exposed around its full circumference and cleaned to remove all loose scale and then primed with corrosion inhibiting compound.

Application Of High Bond-40 Mortar System

The base should be lightly moistened before commencing work and would be slightly damp but still absorbent and never saturated with water.

Consumption Of Material

The consumption of the material depends upon the surface, but it varies from 250-500gm./sq.mt., as under: –
If the surface is plain, the consumption will be 250gm./sq.mt. In the case of bonding from column to column, the consumption will be 500gm./sq.mt., but in the case of taper portion, the consumption will, however, be 350gm./sq.mt.
